New Employee Spotlight: Victoria Cantu

At haku, we pride ourselves on a diverse and unique collection of talent and personalities. One of the newest members of our haku family is Victoria Cantu. 

Victoria was born and raised in Mexico and came to Miami to join the FIU swimming team and study Marketing. She now has a Masters in Information Systems and tracking Business Analytics. Let’s get to know her a little more.

What is your role at haku? 

I am haku’s Business Analyst and I will be in charge of helping the company make informed decisions through data and information analysis.

Do you have any unique talents?

Besides being a swimmer for many years, I am also now a triathlete. I also really enjoy painting and art.

How would your friends and family describe you? 

My friends and family describe me as kind and caring for others. They also see me as a very dedicated and driven individual who would do anything for those she loves.

What made you want to go into Tech? 

In my previous role as a Sales Operations Analyst and in my sports career, I understood the importance and power of information and data, and how they can influence everything; from business performance to individual success.

At the same time, I also realized how underdeveloped this field of study is in my home country and the underrepresentation of latin women in STEM. This inspired me to take the challenge.

What is your favorite place you’ve traveled to? 

My favorite place I have traveled to is Lucerne, Switzerland. I had the opportunity to spend 6 months here and meet some amazing people. The mountains and lakes make it breathtaking.

Where is your dream vacation? 

My dream vacation is a tropical destination where I can relax near the beach but also stay active with fun outdoor activities.

If haku announced a last-minute day off for tomorrow, what would you do with your suddenly free day? 

I would probably start with a morning cycle, spend some time at the Beach with my loved ones, and enjoy some good food.

What are some of your long-term career goals? 

In my career, I want to have a positive impact everywhere I go and never stop learning new things. In the future, I would like to start my own business in something I am really passionate about.

What are some of your guilty pleasures? 

I am a big foodie and enjoy trying new dishes. I really think enjoying a meal is one of my highlights of the day.

What is your definition of success? 

My definition of success is achieving my goals while enjoying the process as much as the achievements.

If you could go back in time and change something about your life, what would it be? 

If I could go back in time, I would not change a thing because I believe that every experience has shaped me into the woman I am today and I am grateful for all of it.
