New Hire Spotlight: Loreli Cabrera
Written byOur haku team is growing quickly! The newest member of the team is Loreli Cabrebra. She is Cuban and lived in Spain before moving to the US. She went to FIU where she studied Biology/Chemistry and is now pursuing an MBA at FIU with a specialization in International Business. Let’s get to know Loreli!
What is your role with haku?
I'm a CX Manager at haku, I work with local and international clients making sure they make the most out of what we offer!
Where would you see yourself in 5-10 years?
I see myself more deeply involved with international expansion, growing that book of business while still having close ties to all things customer relations.
What is a professional skill or a hobby you would like to learn?
I would love to learn another language both as a hobby and a professional skill. I’m learning Italian in my free time and would like to be more fluent by the end of the year. Although, since starting at haku, I’m thinking learning Swedish might be a better choice!
What is your idea of a perfect day?
My perfect day is spent with my family at the beach. Since most of my family is in Cuba, my perfect day would start in Varadero where we would be at the beach until sundown.
What is your favorite place you have traveled to?
This is a hard one because I’ve traveled a lot and I don’t think I’ve ever had a trip I wouldn’t repeat. That being said, I loved Italy when I went a few years ago and I would like to visit again to see other cities around the country. So far, I’ve only seen Padua, Florence, Venice, Rome, and Pisa which were amazing and definitely one of my favorite trips!
How would you define success?
Success to me is feeling self-fulfillment and happy. While I believe having goals and objectives one aspires to achieve is necessary, I think success isn’t dependent on how many items you have checked off the list, but on how those have made you feel.
Can you share a great piece of advice you have received or that you keep in mind?
When I was very young, my mom and I moved quite a bit and when I wasn’t excited about starting school in a new country, she said to me that those who adapt the fastest in life are the happiest and most successful. That phrase stuck with me and whenever I’ve been in a difficult situation, I’ve reminded myself of it, adapted, and moved on.
How would family and friends describe you?
I think my family and friends would describe me as a happy, positive person. I try to make the most out of whatever situation I’m in and move through life with energy.
What do you enjoy most about living in Miami?
I love that the beach is so close to me and that there are always new restaurants to try! Going out to eat is one of my favorite things to do with my friends and family, so living in Miami has gotten me used to many options!
